a little sewing lesson!

last week i had the pleasure to spend an afternoon with my sweet sil and teach her how to sew. it was her first time at the sewing machine, and she picked up on everything so quickly. we made a simple little patchwork pillow, and it turned out F A B U L O U S!! we used the oh so yummy, early bird fabric from cosmo cricket! i just love how it turned out. i think i enjoyed our little sewing adventure just as much as she did!



i left her with a little homework, to make a matching strip pillow. i can't wait to see it when it's done!! THANKS trina, for letting me share a piece of what i LOVE!

a sprouting gnomie!

i just finished my sprouting gnomie mini quilt!! i am in LOVE!! when i saw this absolutely adorable quilt by amanda aka mrsmcporkchop, i had to make one with a little spin of my red and aqua cuteness!! :) i used my very first hexies so it gives that little extra sentimental touch. :)

the hexies are hand stitched together, and then i appliqued them on. for the quilting, i free motion quilted the seedlings.

i had fun taking pictures of these cutsie fat quarter bundles with my new cake stand!! i'll be listing them in the shop today or tomorrow. i only have a few bundles of each so let me know if you'd like me to reserve one for you. :)

bambi's bunting!

this week-end i was itching to do a little craft project! with seeing these cute little buntings here, here, and here, i just couldn't resist!! i combined a couple of the ideas and made a sweet little deer stringing along a bunting! i just LOVE it!! it was such a simple project, yet so much fun!!

tuesday talk!!

on a whim we took a little sunday drive to the coast, and made a little stop in forks. it was a blast to drive around the small little town and go into the little shops dedicated to twilight. we ended up staying the the night in forks, and went to la push a couple times for lots of beach time! :)

while driving i was able to work on my hexies for the {handsome} hexies - the swap. heather and i started round 2 up last week and will end on the 2nd of august to make a short round. i just have a few more to make, and then they will be off to my partner!

yesterday heather and i started sigh-ups for the {urban} home goods - a modern swap! if you haven't taken a peek at the photo stream you must take a lookie loo!! the amount of creative talent that is in our group is astonishing!! i can't wait to see what sprouts this round!! i know it will be amazing!!

jack and jill~ embroidery!

i'm so excited i finally finished my jack and jill embroidery that i'd been working on for quite some time! marianne created the pattern, by slightly changing the adorable hansel and gretal pattern from doe-c-doe, to this super cute jack and jill. the moment i saw it, i fell in LOVE with it. when i asked if she minded if i stitched one up too she was so sweet and sent me the pattern! THANKS so much marianne!! now to decide how i want to use it?? hang it in a hoop, make it into a simple quilt like this or this, or maybe a cute pillow like this? what do you think?


and lookie what just arrived in my mailbox!! this super cute mini pincushion from the ever so famous susan, aka chickenfoot!! isn't it just the cutest!! the adorable little mushroom also came in the package!! THANKS so much, susan!! i LOVE them both!!

more yumminess!!

this last week i've added a couple new special touches to my home in red and aqua. i had a few packages waiting for me when i got back and let me tell you my friends are super talented!! first this cute little quilted bib i got from nettie, with the sweetest hexies!! i had just found the little kerchief girl hanger on ebay so the bib was the perfect piece to hang from it!!

nanacompany and i did a trade for some fabrics for these absolutely A D O R A B L E placemats!! every time i open a package from the sweet amy, it is like christmas!! the detail absolutely takes my breath away!! THANKS so much for asking to trade again!! amy is now working on an interactive wall quilt for me and i can't wait!!

a pretty little pincushion!

yesterday i worked on a sweet little pincushion for my partner for the scrappy pincushion swap. she asked for something cute, and first thing to come to mind was the new japanese hokuou, and flower sugar collection that i just picked up from lecien. hope my little pincushion has enough cuteness!! i sure think so. :)
