embellishing with hexies!

eek!! i can't believe it has been over a week since i posted last! we had a fun filled labor day week-end with family and now it is back to all the busy work!! :) i have to say it is wonderful having 4 of my kiddos back in school. i've been able to work on my urban home goods projects, and a few smaller crafts with some of the red and aqua hexies i had on hand.

first, a couple cute little tea towels. after seeing my bestest friend heather make a couple tea towels, it went straight on my list! i have a couple more in the works too! i just love the cute addition they are to the kitchen!!

then i embellished a red tee that had a stain on it with a grandmothers flower! isn't it cute!! jeni had made a bright and cheery one awhile back, and i thought it was the CUTEST!! i think i need a couple more! :)

better get back to my urban home goods projects as the deadline is friday!! :)

tick tock, a pillow clock!!

Today I received the most amazing pillow, from sweet miss Nova, for The Pillow Talk Swap!! It is a spectacular work of art, and am soooo excited it is mine!! She did such a fantastic job with every detail. I had mentioned in my preferences that I love interactive piecing and that is exactly what she did!! THANKS so much for creating such a wonderful pillow that I would adore!!

Absolutely perfect in every way!! I love the gnome, and owl, and look at the wonderful detail with the stitching and buttons for the inside of the clock!!

Tick Tock, Tick Tock!! Even the back side has detail!!

All my wonderful, amazing, adorable, spectacular, and FABULOUS pillows I've received in swaps!!

My baby girl just turned 10. Double digits!! She is growing up too fast!! Slow down sweet one!!

For my daughters b-day we took her to a water park while visiting my sister. This is what my little guy was busy doing for part of the time! Funny huh? Playing playmobil at the water park!

Getting ready to list the Far Far Away II!! :)

hexies!!

I've been so inspired lately by the wonderful hexies all my online friends have been creating!! Like here, here and here! I finally took the leap and gave them a try!! It was especially fun because my SIL, Tasha and I got to learn together!! While the kiddos played and the hubbies chatted there we were piecing away!! Since we both LOVE red and aqua and cutsie prints we also had fun pulling from each others stashes. :)

We used this fabulous tutorial and pattern from my sweet friend, Amy! Thanks for making it soo easy to learn Amy! Also, if you'd like to see some of the most amazing hexagons make sure to visit this group, and this group, of Heather and I's.

My first hexie stack!! Doesn't it look so yummy!!

I'm thinking of making a simple wall hanging and adding some embroidery! What would you do?

and a few more I added to the stack while at my sons hockey practice. Yippee, something new to keep my hands busy while out.

Hope you are having a fabulous day!

gnomies, mushrooms & a makeover!!

Yesterday Heather and I worked on our blogs to give them a new look!! It was so fun working together trying to figure out the html coding to make a 3 column blog!! With all our groups, and bees, our side bars were getting a bit overloaded, and now I can add more linkies to the sides. :) With having a 3 column blog I also needed a new banner to fit, so enjoyed starting from scratch and love the new one!!

Also, I've had lots of new gnomes and mushrooms arrive. I've given them new homes in pots and terrariums! The wee gnome (above) is from the very talented Humblebea. LOVE, love, love him!! He looks so cute in my kitchen!!

These sweet little gnomies, and clothes line are from the lovely doodlebirdie! They had been a favorite for so long, and with my birthday earlier in the month, I finally bought them. They are absolutely cheek pinchingly cute!!

I was sooo excited to see mushrooms in the gardening section at Target a few weeks ago!! Every time I'm there I pick up a couple more to add to my growing collection!

Hope you are having a fantastic Friday!! I'll be having a girls week-end at Heathers and am sew excited that it is finally Friday!! Yippee!!
