thankful.

This time of year always gives me a chance to really think of all the things I have to be thankful for. The last couple days we have had our power out from weather, but I still have much to be thankful for!! We were told not to expect power till Friday, but we are so blessed to have it on now!! Oh, I'm so glad that we have lots of warmth before Thanksgiving.

With having lots of time on my hands to sit by the fireplace, I was able to get lots of hand stitching done, and got a little closer to having the double wedding ring pillow done. I only have one more section. Yeah!!

I also was able to read some fun Thanksgiving books with my kiddos, and enjoyed reading a couple FABULOUS new books of mine, Scandinavian Stitches, and Fa La La La Felt!! I can't wait to get started on some of the fantastic projects in each book!!

And of course, enjoyed watching the kiddos play in the snow, and look at the beautiful scenery. With not having any snow last year we were excited to have some so early!!

To all my sweet US friends, I hope you have a wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving!!

  1. No power until Friday?!? I LOVE this new project you are working on. What paper pieces are needed to do that. I only have hexagons. But would like to do what you are doing.

    Stay warm and Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. I love quiet family time around the fireplace during outages, too. So peaceful and we usually all read together with our headlamps. Nice. But hopefully you won't be too cold!

  4. THANKS!! For the double wedding ring english paper piecing, I sell those in my shop as well as the hexagons. If you know how to do the hexagons, it is just slightly different, not much though (you fold the corners a little bit different). :)

  8. Happy Thanksgiving! I like the two books also! I teach a craft class and look forward to investing in Fa, La, La.... Cute vintage cards. I collect vintage Valentine. Appreciate all the quilting and embroidery I have seen on your blog but have never commented so I'm breaking the mold!
