15 years

Today is my hubby and I's anniversary.  I can't believe it has already been 15 years.  We were high school sweet hearts so he really is my one and only true love.  I can't imagine life without him.  He is such a kind and loving guy and it really shows as he even cuts fabric for me.  :)  With growing up with a mom that would drag him through the fabric store for hours on end he never thought he'd have one in his house.  Though, he really doesn't mind, and is always there to help out.  I truly love him with all my heart.

Not only is he a wonderful husband he is the best father.  My kiddos all adore him.

We had some family pictures done while we were in California.  It had been before my littlest one was born that we had done family pictures.  Now to get them framed.  :)

Quite the line up here.  :)

I'd love to hear your pearls of wisdom on a happy and long marriage.  Before we were married we were advised to go through marriage with our eyes squinted as no one is ever perfect.  I think that was wonderful advise.  What have you learned that has helped?

Forgive, don't have unrealistic expectations, forgive some more. Work toward common goals.

  15. Congratulations! You have such a gorgeous family :-) Best piece I've learned is that a marriage is never 50/50. Sometimes it's 60/40 in your favour, sometimes it's 80/20 in his favour, but it all kind of balances out over time.

  18. Happy Anniversary!
Our greatest piece of advice to newly weds is that they never speak poorly of their spouse to others, once those words are said, they can never be unsaid.

  20. Oh, Happy Anniversary, Kerri!!! My husband and I have been married for 15 years as well. :) I love reading everyone's advice! My 88 year old grandmother just sent me a card this week that said we "had come a long way, baby" and that anything unpleasant, we should "take it out for love". Sweet advice coming from such a sweet lady made me cry. Also, I think knowing it is a commitment we honor before God, regardless of how we may feel at any given moment, helps you stick it out through the rough patches. Every relationship has it's ups and downs and we don't want to miss the "ups". Also, we need to continue to put the "work" into it, just like we did when we wooed each other in the very beginning. ;)
