last week i had the pleasure to spend an afternoon with my sweet sil and teach her how to sew. it was her first time at the sewing machine, and she picked up on everything so quickly. we made a simple little patchwork pillow, and it turned out F A B U L O U S!! we used the oh so yummy, early bird fabric from cosmo cricket! i just love how it turned out. i think i enjoyed our little sewing adventure just as much as she did!
i left her with a little homework, to make a matching strip pillow. i can't wait to see it when it's done!! THANKS trina, for letting me share a piece of what i LOVE!

ReplyDeleteCute pillow!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet sil you are. My sil got me started sewing and quilting, too. She'll love ya forever!
ReplyDeleteAdorable first project!! It's always great to have more 'creatives' out there!!
ReplyDeletelooks like a fun time!! her pillow turned out cute! :)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely and what a special time to share. My SIL lives in Korea ~ so sadly I do not get to share these special times with her.
ReplyDeleteLove the pillow. Well done you for teaching your SIL to sew.
Cute pillow, such a great idea.
ReplyDeleteSomewhere in my mother's house is a nine-patch pillow just like that, that was my first project. Well, just like that except mine was lumpy pink and green (oh, how I agonized over picking out just the right fat quarters for that), but still, a great first project.
ReplyDeleteSo, fun! I love early bird! I sent you a couple of etsy messages as westwoodacres, did you get them? Thanks!

Beautiful pillow. I'm teaching my 11 year old daughter to sew. I hope she picks it up.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely! I'm making a throw 'rug' out of the same fabric- it's nice to see how well they work together on a finished piece!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the compliments... and thank you Kerri for taking the time to teach me, to share something you love so much!!! I had a great time, and I am so proud of my little project.
ReplyDeleteFinished my HW :) I have a pic of it on fb if you want to take a look Kerri. I was scared... the strips turned out HORRIBLY crooked, but somehow I managed to save it when I sewed the back on. Isabella loves looking at it :)
