winter hexies...and a little giveaway for you!

I finally got a bunch of Heather Ross winter flannel hexies all basted and ready to be sewn together!! I had some time this week-end while waiting at my daughters ice skating lessons, and it was perfect to pull out my winter Munki Munki!! I think I'll make it into a pillow as how soft and comfy will that be to lay my head on!! Pure bliss, I say!! I love all the new Winter Munki Munki that came out recently and they look fabulous with all the others, like Penguin Water Ballet!! I think that is a new favorite of mine!! It is simply adorable!!

All these ones pictured are available through my shop!! If you noticed the plaid and ticking stripe, those are also Munki Munki, but are the cuffs or trim from the leg panels and the sleeves. I love how they have a coordinating fabric on some of them!!

A couple other new ones are the Foxes and Cardinals!! Aren't they cute too!!

Would you like to make some Heather Ross, Munki hexies too? I have some extra scraps so will be giving away a scrap pack and some 1 1/2 inch hexies! :)

This is a really simple and short giveaway so if you'd like to win all you have to do is tell me which Heather Ross winter Munki Munki is your favorite, and what you'd make these lovely hexies into.

The giveaway will only be open till Wednesday Dec. 14th, and I'll announce the giveaway winner soon after!

Good Luck!!!

ocean sewing

I just got back a couple days ago from a girls retreat to the Oregon coast! We went to Brookings, Oregon that is right on the border of California. It was such a peaceful 5 days!! One of my favorite things was waking up to the sounds of the waves! I even squeezed in some sewing, along with a fun little trip into the quant little beach town to visit the local quilt shop! It was so refreshing, but am happy to be home again too!!

Here are a few pictures of our trip~

Toes in the sand!!

At a little boutique/antique shop I found the sweetest little bundle of vintage fabrics and a cute little embroidery!! It was sure the highlight of my day and felt like I found that little needle in the haystack!!

Aren't they the sweetest ever!!

For sewing I worked on several projects!! For the Pinwheels in the Park, I got all my pieces cut.

All the triangles

I can't wait to start sewing the blocks now!! Make sure to let me know if you are sewing along! I'd love to follow your progress too. :)

I started working on my Heather Ross summer time quilt!! I've had this on my to do list for quite some time so it was fun to finally get started! I'm doing the pattern Shortcake by Alison of Cluck Cluck Sew. I had to cut all my strips so that took a bit of time as it normally calls for a jelly roll.

My week 10 blocks! I like doing a simple one and then one that is a bit more piecing to even it out.

I hope you are having a wonderful week!! I've been enjoying some sunny days and my sweet little ones since I've been back!! :)

it's here...

...the fall Munki Munki!! I've been anticipating it's arrival since last Spring, and let me tell you, I'm so excited as it is the softest flannel EVER!! With it being a bamboo flannel, it makes it extremely softer. Oh, I can just imagine wearing a pair of these during those cold winter months while snuggling up to a matching quilt!! Wouldn't that be fun!! :)

A limited edition Love Bikes I was able to get my hands on!! I love it in the blue!!!

The Day of the Dead should be arriving within the next week so keep watch for that one, and it comes in poplin!!

PS. It may be quiet on my blog for a few weeks as we are getting ready to move at the end of the month. I'll also be closing my shop soon for probably a week or so to get everything situated. We quickly out grew our home with having a large family and the shop!! :)

busy as a bee...

...doing lots of bee block!!! I've been playing catch up on a couple of Aprils blocks as well as getting all the ones done for May. I really wanted to go into June all caught up. I have to say it is a big relief to be caught up, and knowing that June will be much less stressful, hopefully. :)

Munki blocks for Rachel from the [Bee]- autiful Quilting Bee! The calypso block!

The tea party block!

Mendocino block for Kim from the SNTM Quitling Bee!

Flying Geese block for Amanda from the {Bee} Imaginative - A Virtual Quilting Bee.

Denyse Schmidt, Drunk Love block for Ashley from the {Bee} Imaginative - A Virtual Quilting Bee. I'm so sorry these are so late!!

Little toesies slipped in on this one.

Hope everyone has a super spectacular week-end!! What are your plans? I'm hoping to try my hand at some hexies for the first time!! :)

fancied with farmers market~ mini quilt!

This week-end I had a baby shower to go to for my sweet cousin that is having her first baby! She doesn't know what she is having so I needed to go gender neutral. Now, what fabric just calls out gender neutral? Definitely the Munki Munki, Farmers Market! I thought it was perfect. I wanted to go simple so used the Denyse Schmidt, Drunk Love style. Me? A Mom?, did some of the cutest Munki Munki blocks using this style, so I used her blocks as inspiration to mine. I thought it turned out pretty cute! Sorry for the wrinkles, it had just came out of the dryer and we were running late. :)

The quilt is a stroller/car seat size. Approx. 26 X 26.

My signature booties and onesies!! I just can't go to a baby shower without them!! ;)

Hope you are having a magical Monday!!

Fall Munki Munki & a Big THANK YOU!!

I have the sweetest online friends!! I am truly blessed! THANKS you so much for all the kind words, prayers and best wishes for my baby's surgery. It couldn't have gone better, and his recovery has even gone smoother. I'm sure the whole thing was much much harder on me than it was on him. I am so surprised with how fast he has bounced back to his normal busy little self! My older 3 kiddos spent the week-end at my husband's sisters so it actually was a pretty quiet week-end with catching up on orders and even a little trip to the beach to relax.

Here is what I worked on during the surgery and a little at the beach. Just starting to add the color. Hopefully I'll be done this week so I can hand deliver it to Heather this week-end. :)

When I got back from my little guys surgery on Friday night my latest Munki Munki order was sitting on my door step! And guess what Ben slipped inside, the Munki Munki fall catalog!! I'm sooo excited for the new HR prints!!

Sock monkeys in red and aqua, on flannel!! How perfect is this!!!

Day of the Dead on poplin!

Marching Elephants on flannel!

Slice of Pie on flannel!

Retro Robots on Thermal! Not sure how this would work for projects, but I'm thinking of ordering one to see since they are too cute!!

Russian Nesting Dolls on Thermal

Hope everyone has a magical Monday!!
