Do you remember this quilt? Don't feel bad if you don't, as it was a long time ago I put it together. I should say a really long time ago, pretty much a year ago. I made it for my sweet soon to be niece, that is going to be one next week!! I'm a little embarrassed it has taken me this long to get it sandwiched and to finally start to quilt it!! Especially, since that is my favorite part, stippling!! Here are a few pictures of my process on quilting the top!!
I'm so excited as the stippling should be done today, as I only have a little left. Then the binding, and it will be done by the time Isabella turns one!! Better late then never, right?? Please tell me I'm not the only one that has taken this long to finish a quilt. :)
Now back to finish the quilting!
You aren't the only one :-) And it's absolutely gorgeous....I'm sure she'll love it!
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to your excitement! There is nothing like quilting and getting closer to a finished product. Love the design and fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI just love it! It will be a treasure for a long time to come!
ReplyDeleteI just adore your new look!
ReplyDeleteAnd this quilt...well, being the only girl in our house...it just resonates with my soul. Thank you for the "delicate, lovely, girlie" fix.
That's really lovely i would never be able to fit my quilt under my sewing machine. I started my hexagon quilt last October but it has all been done by hand i have just started to quilt it by hand also so you are not alone it is going to take me a long time also but i am enjoying the process ;-)) Look forward to seeing it finished. dee x
ReplyDeleteit's gorgeous!!! and you are totally not the only one...i have 6 or 7 quilts on the go and one is from when my son was 1...he's now FOUR!! haha. For me the reason is a little the opposite though, i'm not much a fan of the actual quilting process - i really love the hand stitching and applique part but hate when things get big and difficult to manage! I'm about to learn quilt as you go thouhg, which will hopefully avoid the issue completely :) yay!!
ReplyDeleteyou're not alone! it always feels good to get some quilting done! I still have a quilt top from the ORBC quilt along from 2 years ago waiting to be sandwiched and quilted. it's a bit harder to notch out time to quilt when we have kiddos!
ReplyDeletebeautiful......x
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Don't feel too badly. I'm finishing a pair of socks (knitting) that I cast on for on Thanksgiving 2009!
ReplyDeleteIt looks darling. That's great you can do your own quilting! Wish I could! Good job!

ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet quilt! I can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeletePretty quilt, very cute. I love stipling too and try to get myself to do something else but I really don't want to.
ReplyDeleteyay for finishing quilts!! i finished the 2 baby ones today and i'm so relieved and excited to finally give them away!! congrats on isabella's! :)
ReplyDeleteI am the same way. Sometimes by the time I remember that I need a gift and get started on it I only have a few day to bust something out. LOL!! That quilt is so cute. I love the stippling also!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out beautiful, Kerri! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteoh, girl...you know I've got quilts in progress that have taken way longer than they should have! You're not alone! Love your newest blog design! Looks so beautiful and is so YOU!
ReplyDeleteI long arm quilt for other people, and still I have quilt tops that are two years old and more. It gets worse if you start counting quilts I intended to make. I have everything I need to make a quilt for the living room in my new home...I've now lived here for almost 13 years.
ReplyDeleteYour little quilt is very pretty. I'm sure a 1 year old appreciates it more than an infant would have.
