Yesterday I did a mini selvedge spiderweb. I had been saving all my red and aqua selvedges from all the lovely red and aqua quilts I've done, since I have loved many of the spiderweb wip like this, this and this. Ariels quilting bee block is the spiderweb and since I hadn't done one before, thought all my red and aqua selvedges would be perfect practice, and I'm getting the cutest little mini out of it. How perfect!! :) Now I'm ready to do Ariels!
I added a few of my favorites in the mix, and of course lots of gnomes mushrooms and forest animals again!! I'm thinkin of using it as a table topper?? Whatcha think?
I got my mini quilt from Claudia a little over a week ago. Not only did she send one, she sent two!! Both my girls got to open thier own package, and each had a sweet little note in it. Maya and Savannah LOVE their new little quilts!! THANKS so much Claudia!!
Great looking mini spiderweb!
ReplyDeleteThe girls both look so pleased with the mini quilts. They have great smiles.
Kerry..I think it would be very sweet as a table topper! I love those colors together. I asked you a few posts back if you lived in Eastern Washington or Western Washington....the reason is that I live in Western Washington and my daughter, mother, granddaughter and I recently did the Western Washington Shop Hop and I have 4 posts about it on my blog. Check it out and let me know what you think! Your girls look very happy about their quilts!
ReplyDeletei like the picture of the girls with the mini quilts....too cute!
ReplyDeleteyay! aren't spiderwebs fun? I don't know that I could do a fullllll quilt of them, so that's why I thought it would be a great Bee block quilt. I LOVE LOVE yours! It would look lovely on the table top, or somehow draped off of a shelf with your little gnome drawing sitting on it! ;)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see it quilted! Your girls are precious! How fun to have opened hip new quilts!
What lucky girls! The both have very pretty quilts. I love your new one in progress. My eldest daughter loves aqua and red too. I like how you have used the selvages in it too.
ReplyDeleteI love spiderweb quilts and can't wait to make a whole one. I recently made one block as a table mat and gave it to a colleague who had just lost her mother. I left it in her office with flowers on it. It was fun to make and I can't wait to make more. Such a lovely little gift. I like how you but borders on yours -- I didn't think of that: http://www.flickr.com/photos/joanhcallaway/3675796055/
