project improv~ with my little guy!

i worked a little more on my project improv blocks this week-end, and got a few shots of my little guy trying to get into the yummy red fabrics. it was just too cute, and couldn't pass up the picture perfect moment. :)

i cut all the fabrics into strips, and then sorted them into small containers to help the process go a little quicker. :)

hope everyone has a magical week!

  2. I read the whole project improv thing. I love it!! I'm just not sure what it really is. :)
Could you dumb it down for me? :)

    Cute booboo.

  3. Wow, the little guy would look adorable even just wearing regular clothes, but with him in a monkey suit -- that just puts it over the top! So cute!!!

And oh, how I would have loved having one of those baby chairs, forget what they're called... They were just coming out when my third (and last) was the right age for them but I was too cheap to spring for a new one and there were none to be had at garage sales yet. : ) Glad you can have him nearby as you're crafting away.

Magical week back atcha! : ) (Thanks for the moment of gratitude your "hope" for us inspired...)

  4. des,

project improv is pretty much just taking your quilting one step further, or quilting out side of your own box. i decided to try and do the wonky log cabin since i'd never done anything with out straight lines. thought that would be fun to try. some of my blocks have a bit more wonkiness than others.

also, we donate one block in one of 3 different color ways that will be quilted and then given for charity. we have until april to do that part of project improv. i chose the red and aqua color way for my block that i'm donating.

for doing our own quilt, there is no time limit, and it can be which ever size we would like. :)

  5. Just a note of caution on the Bumbo. You should really have him on the ground while he sits in it because when I went to research buying one, the search came up with a ton of warnings about children arching backwards and falling out of the Bumbo (because of no straps) while placed on tables and counters. Unfortunately, it has led to a few deaths from head injuries.

  7. Kerri, unfortunately I am not a very good knitter, but maybe you could use the alchemy tool, I just used it myself to get a baby item.

  8. if it's crochet, I can surely make them to you!
You just have to let me know the colors you would like them to be made out of and the type of yarn (cotton yarn, acrylic) - if the pattern doesn't call for a specific one.
    :o)
