  5. thanks for the kind comments!! :)

    tasha,

i was thinking either 20 or 25. not sure how big i want it yet, but definately will be a lap quilt. and then, on a couple of the blocks when i was squareing them off, the white sashing ended up a bit smaller than i wanted. i'm not sure if i'll add more sashing???

  8. nettie,

i ordered some white kona cotton at joanns.com. i was able to use the 40% off coupon and the shipping was only $2.95. not sure if i could have gotten it cheaper somewhere else. maybe i should have waited for a 50% off coupon but i needed it now and i'm going through it like crazy. :)

Looks like my style.:) Oh yes, bigger quilts just work for me because my husband is 6'4" my 10 year old is 5'2" and my 8 year old is 4'11". I have some big guys in my life. That's why I think i make them so big.:) Have a great day, Heather

  12. Kerri, what a cute quilt! could you tell me what size your strips are? and what size is the middle block? what size will the block be when complete? So darn cute!!!

  13. debbie,

i cut the strips 1 1/2 inches wide and they vary in length. however long the fabric was and then i just trim as i go. the middle block is 2 1/2 inch square. i add a bit of wonkiness to them too, and with the white sashing they end up being 9 1/2 inch sqaure. i wish though, i would have made the white sashing a bit wider so they would have ended up being 10 inch square.

thanks so much for your compliments!! :)
