when i was in the car the funniest song came on the radio about being hurt. oh boy, oh boy, did it speak to me! have you ever been sooo hurt by someone that you know you should really be praying for them, but honestly just wish bad karma would bite them in the butt! sorry for the bit of sourness today, just had to share that there has been such deep hurt this past year. i won't go into any details since this someone is involved in our online world, but the saddest part is i once considered her my best friend.
on a good note, i'm sooo excited for the new year 2010, and am so grateful for the new friendships that have blossomed and have helped me through one of the toughest years of my life. i have found out what true friendship is. that they will be there for you through the thick and thin and won't judge you every step you take.

ReplyDeleteHere's to a better 2010!
That's the funniest song I've heard in a long time!!! Who knew I might like country??? LOL
ReplyDeleteI got it on my blog!! Thanks Katie, I was figuring there had to be an html code somewhere!! 2010 will be a great year, moving forward and not looking back. :)
ReplyDeleteI had a friend (who I would consider a sister) rant about me to her hubby on email but accidentally address it to me. OUCH! You will heal. It will take time. But I still have not forgotten. Good luck. Love your blog.
ReplyDeleteSorry for you losing a friend, but in reality, (because of whatever she did) it's her loss, not yours. Still hurts though, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI've found that in the quilting world there is a ton of trust and niceness, but it's like family - just because you share one random thing (bloodline, hobby) that doesn't automatically make you suited to be friends. I've felt snubbed many times, especially by staff in quilt stores!
ReplyDeleteOh my heck, that is a great song! Thanks for sharing. I am sorry for the hurt. That is never fun to deal with.
ReplyDeletewhoa! Just sent this to my friend who's divorce was final this week. Hmmmm.....i wonder if that was a bad thing to do?
ReplyDeleteThat song is funny!
ReplyDeleteThanks also Kerri for the great transaction on Etsy -- love my fabric!
Love, love, love that song!! I'm still laughing. Honestly though, I think you are one of the nicest people in blogland. I can't see how someone could treat you badly. Thanks for sharing this song. We all have people we relate to in this song... AND 2010 will be a great one!!
ReplyDeleteSweet song!!
ReplyDeleteFriends/Family...... some are great/some are not
that's life....sad but true!!
xo
happy 2010
Thanks for sharing this song. I laughed when I heard the words. I can totally relate, but lots of times I just have to pray that the Lord helps me to forgive that person... truely forgive, because I can't do it with my own strength. :)
ReplyDeletethat song is perfect.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing (sorry to hear about your sadness :( though....)
Such a funny song, sad but true with some folks I'm sure. So sorry for the hurt you encountered, here's to a year of fun and new friendships for you.

I am so sorry you lost a friend this year. My 18 year old daughter just went through a several month period of being very ill and a bunch of her friends dropped her because they thought she was "faking it" and "just being dramatic". Ugh. As a mama, I wanted those things in the song to happen to these girls. And yes, I did pray for these girls, that God would show them how hurtful they had been to my girl. While I did not pray for them to become ill or hurt, one of them ended up in the hospital for a month with a freak medical condition. This kid told my daughter yesterday that she was sorry and now she understands. It still hurts my girl, but sadly she is learning that not everyone believes the way we do. And some people just choose to be hurtful instead of loving.
ReplyDeleteI pray you have a better year, just like I am praying for my sweet girl.
Don't know what your story is, but it stirred my own loss of someone I also considered a close friend. She had an affair with my at-that-time husband and they married very shortly after my divorce. Since then, she was diagnosed with an inoperable cancer and they have had to deal with that all the years since. Although I did not wish anything this horrible on them, they have surely suffered for their actions. As for me, I am stronger as a woman and have such a deeper relationship with God that I see now there was a plan, though not what I thought my life would be. Keep your faith and you will surely grow, too.
