I wanted to give a little shout out that my dear friend Heather is having a spectacular Heather Ross giveaway on her blog this week! Make sure you hop on over and leave a comment for a chance to win!
This is what came to my door last week!! I have grown such a fond love for all the yummy colors of the Kona cotton. I'm trying to build up my stock, and hopefully will be getting another box like this in the next few weeks of some other colors. Isn't it such eye candy!
I leave on Friday for our Twilight sewing retreat and can't wait!! I'll try to be back before then to post but with my long list of to-do's it may be next week with pictures of all the fun we have. :)

happily stitched
I have to say, I LOVE stitching by hand! It is so soothing, and you can take it with you anywhere you go. Whether it is in the car, at a family members house, or at my kiddos ice skating lessons, I just love bringing it along to keep me busy.
Lately I've finished two stitchery's. The first is my piece to give inspiration for my group in the Hoop up! Stitch & Send Swap. I chose as my theme~ little red riding hood and her forest friends. The little red was inspired by a Japanese fabric, and the cute little hedgie is from one of Ariel's art pieces she did for me. Thanks Ariel, for letting me use him in my embroidery. :)
The second is for Jessica aka Twinfibers. She sent a letter to each member from her son's name, and I received an M. We were all asked to pick an animal that starts with our letter. I did a cute little mouse on a mushroom. I just love how he turned out!!

100th post giveaway!!
It has been a little bit since I had a giveaway on my blog! And with it being my 100th post, I thought it would be a great time to have one, especially since I missed my blog anniversary last month.
As most know I started an online quilt shop through Etsy last summer. I have enjoyed being able add more and more fabrics of all my favorite collections, and designers. A few of my favorite things in my shop are all the red and aqua, the cutesie Japanese fabrics and many of my favorite designs from Heather Ross made by Munki Munki. For the giveaway I thought it would be fun to giveaway something from each of my favorites. :) Yep, so that means there will be three winners!!
Now for the details~
The giveaway will be open till Saturday Feb. 13, and I'll announce the giveaway winners on Valentines day!
You have 3 chances to win. Choose any 3 of the following~
1. Tell me your favorite Heather Ross print. I'd love to hear. :)
2. Blog about this giveaway
3. Have commented on my blog before
4. Are a follower of my blog
5. Have bought from my Etsy shop, Sew Deerly Loved
Make sure to leave a separate comment for the 3 you qualify for. I'll be using random.org to pick the winners so if you don't leave a comment for each 3 that you qualify for you will only get one chance instead of three.

keeping it real
I loved reading Heather's blog yesterday, and finding out a few new things I didn't know. Even with her being my bff and talking to her everyday, I didn't know she was afraid of cougars. I thought it would be fun to follow suit and do a post on "keeping it real".
I've been blogging for a year now, and have loved meeting the most amazing friends. At first when blogging it was only about what I made for my family and home, but now it has taken a new direction. With all the swaps, bees, and trying to get in a little personal sewing as well, it makes for even more fun! Through all this, I've really met the most amazing people!
Fun Facts~
I was born in Tehran, Iran when my Dad was there working for Boeing. Maybe that is why I love to travel, and enjoyed living in Shanghai, China. Though, I know it is shameful. I never saw the great wall.
I've been married to my high school sweetheart for 12 years.
I have six kiddos (9,8,6,4,2. and 18 months). I have to say, I think they are the cutest!!
I taught Montessori for almost 10 years and thought I knew it all. Raising my own was going to be so easy. Oh, boy have my children proved me wrong.
One of my favorite places is Nauvoo, Illinois. When we lived in Iowa we only lived 45 minutes from Nauvoo, and I loved visiting every chance we could.
I love to ski!
I am terrified of semi trucks. Every time we pass one on the freeway my heart skips a beat.
I am an animal lover. We have a Collie named Charlie, and a fish. Charlie is as big as a horse! LOL! He keeps the kiddos in check, and the moment they start running he barks to let me know, and tries to herd my flock of sheep.
I love thrift shopping and think I'm pretty resourceful, thanks to my mom! If there is something that I'm looking for or want, I usually can find it for a great price.
We love outings. The spring and summer is the time we love to go to zoos, parks, beaches, and little road trips. Yep, even with six kiddos. :) Last summer my 9 year old told me in the car as we were driving to the beach, "we are the family that goes lots of places". That was one of the best things to hear. I'm so glad we are creating many great memories for them.
I'm normally a quiet person but love hanging out with family. Family is so dear to me!
I consider myself to be a very loyal person, and will be there to the end if they will take me as I am, even with my imperfections. If we focus on the positives with each relationship we have, we can truly be happy.
I have 3 sisters and 1 brother. Wish I lived close to all of them!
Heather and I would also enjoy if you "Keep it Real" and blog to share a little of yourself too. Make sure to come back and let me know if you have so I can visit your blog too.
PS. My next post will be my 100th post so make sure to keep checking back as it will be a GIVEAWAY!

rectangles and squares
My January bee block for the Sew New To Me Virtual Quilting Bee was for Cristin, and she asked for anything squares or rectangles. When I got Cristin's instructions this quilt immediately came to mind by Ashley. I love the pretty combination of greys and greens, and it gave me an excuse to use a little of my grey seeds since it would go perfectly! :) Now to get some time so I can make a lovely quilt in this pattern.
