mysteries at the market~ the wonky star quilt

I want to thank everyone, who has come to visit my little blog, all the quilters from the quilt festival, and of course my regular readers!! I appreciate all the kind comments, and all the words of encouragement. It means so much to me, and makes quilting so fun!! I love sharing my little works of art with you!! :)

This week-end, I finally finished the quilt top of the wonky star quilt I had started awhile back, for my second daughter. Most of the fabrics are either Heather Ross's, Lightening Bugs and other Mysteries, or Denyse Shmidts, Flea Market Fancy. I love both these fabric lines and think they look so lovely together. Can't wait to get this one quilted!

Hope everyone has a spectacular week!!

quilt festival~ my favorite quilt!!

A quilt festival is going on over at Park City Girl, started by, Amy. There are lots of links to all the quilters involved, and lots of prizes!! Yeah!! Who doesn't love prizes, and lots of them are some yummy fabrics! :)

Amy has asked everyone to post about their favorite quilt they've made. I haven't made that many, so it wasn't too hard to decide on The Ava Coin Quilt. This one was such a fun one to make since I love all the colors, and variety of fabrics in it, and it is sooo girly!! It has special meaning since I made it for my dear friend and sister in law, Tasha, who just had her first girl after 4 wonderful boys.

Here is the fun little Ava doll quilt I made to go along with it.

Thanks Amy, for putting all the time and effort to have an online quilt festival!! :)

easter lovelies & a couple giveaways!!

I made my kiddos some Easter outfits last week, and am a bit late posting about it, but thought I'd still share. :)

I made some quick and easy skirts for my girls, appliqued some onesies for the babies, and made a couple super fast ties for my older boys. With six kiddos and waiting till the last minute, it had to be quick and easy. :)

The hedgie booties I whipped up for the littlest one!

The Giveaways!!

The first givaway is going on over at A Quiliting Life~ the blog, celebrating the 100th post. It ends Friday, so make sure to check it out before then. The second at Just be Happy~ the blog, giving away a few beautiful crocheted pretties!! Alessandra made some lovely crocheted visor hats for my kiddos, so I know exactly how lovely her things are!! :) It ends on Sunday, so hop on over and say Hi!!

hedgie~ the double hourglass quilt

Hedgie, the doll quilt is now ready to ship to my partner. The binding is done, and i just added the label yesterday. I sure hope my partner likes it as much as I do. :) Thanks, Des for the idea of naming it Hedgie!! I think it's a perfect name.

I ironed a piece of kona cotton to some steam a seam and then ran it through my printer. I tried the freezer paper first, but didn't have any luck. It got stuck in my printer.

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!!

the scrappy squares quilt

On Friday I finished my project improv quilt!! Thanks Jacquie for inspiring so many of us to quilt improvisational.

Last week, I kept debating on whether to use minkee for the back, since I got a little worried with a few of the comment on how difficult minkee can be. I did go with the minkee thanks to Allie, and her encouragment!! I'm so glad I did, since it is so soft.

My cute little guy hopped on in when I was taking pictures, and was pointing to the quilt.

Here is a picture of the back. I did a bit larger of a stipple, thinking it might help with the minkee. Also, using my ironing board while quilting it helped it to not hang and pull. Since minkee stretches quite a bit, I think that really helped. I will definatley be doing many more quilts with minkee!! :)

The end!!
