ReplyDeleteI love how you dare to use dark and light fabrics together. Very cool and the BEST fabrics!!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing the entire quilt :)
I'm seeing blocks everywhere on so many blogs. Your happen to be some of the prettiest I've seen though! :)
ReplyDeletethanks for the kind comments!! :)
ReplyDeletetasha,
i was thinking either 20 or 25. not sure how big i want it yet, but definately will be a lap quilt. and then, on a couple of the blocks when i was squareing them off, the white sashing ended up a bit smaller than i wanted. i'm not sure if i'll add more sashing???
kerri, these are so cute. your finished quilt is going to be awesome. I can't wait to see it! where did you get your bolt of white fabric?
ReplyDeletei seen this quilt done before, but the fabrics and colors you choose....we'll i now have it one my list to make. inspiring! pamela www.frenchknots.blogspot.com
ReplyDeletenettie,
ReplyDeletei ordered some white kona cotton at joanns.com. i was able to use the 40% off coupon and the shipping was only $2.95. not sure if i could have gotten it cheaper somewhere else. maybe i should have waited for a 50% off coupon but i needed it now and i'm going through it like crazy. :)
Really nice combination of fabrics in your blocks! They look so nice together :-).
ReplyDeleteGreat colors and combinations. I have much to learn about complementary colors.
ReplyDeleteoh my, it's going to be too cute!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by the blog. I love this quilt you are working on. I love the fabric from the swap!! I have some of it and I have the campers in pink. I LOVE it! I will be following you. Looks like my style.:) Oh yes, bigger quilts just work for me because my husband is 6'4" my 10 year old is 5'2" and my 8 year old is 4'11". I have some big guys in my life. That's why I think i make them so big.:) Have a great day, Heather
ReplyDeleteKerri, what a cute quilt! could you tell me what size your strips are? and what size is the middle block? what size will the block be when complete? So darn cute!!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love your music :)
debbie,
ReplyDeletei cut the strips 1 1/2 inches wide and they vary in length. however long the fabric was and then i just trim as i go. the middle block is 2 1/2 inch square. i add a bit of wonkiness to them too, and with the white sashing they end up being 9 1/2 inch sqaure. i wish though, i would have made the white sashing a bit wider so they would have ended up being 10 inch square.
thanks so much for your compliments!! :)
